Talent Hive is partnering with The Burnt Chef Project - a non-profit social enterprise which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues within hospitality across the world.
Because of the nature of the industry – long, often unsocial hours, high pressure, demanding working conditions – hospitality staff are four times more likely to experience mental health issues than the general public.
The BCP is a non-profit social enterprise fully committed to making the hospitality profession healthier and more sustainable by offering a range of services, including:
- Podcasts
- Free 24/7 Text Support Service
- Free Academy Training App
- Courses
- Merchandise
- Operational Audits & Action Plans
Through these services, the BCP is challenging the stigma of mental health whilst beginning to create a culture of care and compassion, which will improve recruitment opportunities and help reduce the sector's turnover rates.
It's a cause close to our hearts, and we have pledged to donate £50 to BCP for every candidate we successfully place into a new job.
It’s something that our Managing Director, Will Gennard has personally had direct experience of which is one of the reasons we feel so passionate about it.
In our latest blog, we share more about the project and the accessible services to those working within it.
